Alven Chan

I founded Demi Quaver Rock Academy as I believed that there was a disconnect between passion and modern music education. As the earliest Rockschool DipRSL graduate in Johor Bahru with over 10 years of specialized teaching experience with both young children and mature adults, I make it my mission raise the standards of local music education.

I've been playing drums for more than 10 years. With my band 'Crazy Grizzly', I've recorded 2 studio albums and performed on big stages such as 'Rock the World' and on TV. I believe that with passion and determination, one can achieve great things and overcome all odds.

Haikal Yusri

I've been playing guitars and music for close to 20 years. After graduating, I've worked in professional recording studios doing music composition, mixing and music arrangement. I was also part of KLpac's live production team for some time before coming back to Johor. I believe in maximizing my student's talents by fostering a nurturing learning approach.

Liow Jia Hui

ABRSM Piano Grade 8

I am a mother of two, and I'm currently in the final stages of preparing for my ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano performance. I am an experienced freelance piano tutor of many years, specializing in teaching early childhood music at local preschools. As a classically trained pianist, I am passionate about approaching lessons by introducing a variety of music styles to her students.

Drums have always been a passion for me, which is why I've chosen to commit myself to this lifelong journey of teaching and performing music. My belief is that in order to be a successful teacher, one must first be a dedicated student. My love for learning & teaching work hand-in-hand and is passed down in my lessons.

Alyssa Rosli

I am a qualified and experienced professional singer originally from Kuala Lumpur. I have been involved in radio, tv and music theatre productions. I've taught in Singapore and I am now married and settled down in Johor Bahru. I hope to share my experience and knowledge as a professional singer with my students.

I have been with DQ Rock Academy since the very beginning of it's 10 years of operation. During these long years, I've identified and deeply understand the needs of customers, students and teachers and have made an art of keeping all this in balance behind the scenes through my administrative work.
